Many people ponder upon the question as to why human being has been created. Questions such as where were we when we were not born and where will we go after death often come to mind. But Muslims are blessed enough to have accurate answers to all such questions. As Muslims, we know it through the Holy Quran that we were born to worship Allah. The Holy Quran says:
“I did not create the Jinns and mankind except to worship Me.”
We were sent to earth to follow the guidelines laid down in the Quran and follow the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Those who would successfully do so shall go to Jannah (Paradise) while failure to comply with Islamic teachings shall cause grave punishments and torment of Hell.
Can there be any reward better than Jannah? Certainly not. Jannah is the source of ultimate happiness and pleasure. There is no such reward as Jannah. The Holy Quran promises at any places about the bounties and blessings of Jannah.
"Truly, the muttaqun (the pious and righteous persons) will be amidst Gardens and water-springs (Jannah). (It will be said to them): 'Enter therein (Jannah), in peace and security.' And We shall remove from their breasts any deep feeling of bitterness (that they may have). (So they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones. No sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave it."Al-Qur'an 15:45-48
The bounties of Jannah are unimaginable. We have been told only a few things about how life would be like in Jannah. Those few things are just amazing. So what would actually be, there is beyond the comprehension of the human mind and can be experienced only. Through ahadith we know that in Jannah people would be beautiful, fair, polite and with great manners and etiquette. People in Jannah will not have any grudges or enmity against each other.
“Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs. [Having been told], ‘Enter it in peace, safe [and secure].’ And We will remove whatever is in their chests of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other. No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed” (15:45-48)
So Jannah will be the place where people will live with their beloveds in peace and harmony with the abundance of Allah’s blessings. Those who will please Allah with their conduct and obedience shall go to Jannah. So as Muslims, we all must strive to attain Allah’s approval and go to Jannah.
